Street Painting Festival

The CRA is proud to be the title sponsor of the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival. This event attracts over 400 artists and thousands of guests to our city for one entire weekend in February. Artists of all ages are given the opportunity to create beautiful works on the streets of Lake and Lucerne Avenues. The Street Painting Festival is one of the largest free cultural events in Palm Beach County and is an economic engine for the businesses of Lake Worth. For more information on the Street Painting Festival please Click Here.

Great American Cleanup

Each Spring the CRA partners with neighborhood associations and local non-profit agencies to host the Great American Cleanup in the western neighborhoods. Over 4,500 volunteers in Palm Beach County participate in the annual Great American Cleanup, picking up thousands of pounds of trash and participating in beautification events that involve planting trees and flowers and painting and refurbishing properties. National Park(ing) Day & Lake Worth Festival of Trees

The CRA is proud to help sponsor the City of Lake Worth Tree Board through its Patrons Attraction Grant and Community Aid Grant Programs. In September 2008, the Tree Board held the National Park(ing) Day in Lake Worth. This event is held at the City parking lot at J Street and Lucerne Ave. The purpose of the event is to turn a small piece of urban asphalt into a park for the community to enjoy. In addition, each January, the Tree Board hosts the Festival of Trees in the downtown Cultural Plaza. This event is designed to increase the public's awareness of the beauty and benefit of trees and the importance of restoring the City's tree canopy. Community Policing / National Crime Night Out / Bicycle Rodeo

Crime prevention (whether real or perceived), is key to redeveloping any city. Although most redevelopment experts and developers are sometimes reluctant to speak publicly about crime, the Lake Worth CRA is determined to help decrease crime in the city. The CRA actively supports the goals and objectives of the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office. The CRA co-sponsors the annual National Crime Night Out in Lake Worth which showcases law enforcement in the city in addition to a children's bicycle rodeo which promotes safety.

Rotary Club Park

In 2009, the CRA gave a $3,000 Community Aid Grant award to the Lake Worth Rotary Club to build a new pocket park in the western CRA neighborhoods. The money will be used to help cover the cost of construction. This project will establish much needed open space in the Redevelopment Area and will create a pleasant and appealing atmosphere for the residents of the area. Construction of the park was completed in October 2009.
